Letter From PJ

Good morning Patricia,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know just who you are to me, and how much your vigilant commitment to Raverro Stinnett helped ignite a movement that is now rippling in Denver and beyond. In late May, you reached out to me and asked If there was anything, ANYTHING you could do to help the cause. And so you and I became the first two members of the research committee. During our first call it was clear to me that you were in the fight of your life but that you still had within you an abiding commitment to justice for Raverro and by extension all who share this planet. Your work for Raverro is in no way dissimilar to your life’s work in Africa. You are an exemplar of justice. You don’t know this and so I will tell you, that week, I had given up all hope and was convinced that we could never reach our goal for Justice and all of the victims of Allied Security and that I was overwhelmed with grief and depression. Out of nowhere, you showed up on the scene and put it on the line. In that very moment I decided that if you could put your very life on the line for this campaign Then I had no excuses but to jump back in and give it my all.

When I was young, I was foolish enough to believe that I could change the world. Now as I journey toward wisdom, I know that the only thing we are here to be, is for each other. The ultimate promise of your unyielding vigilance, is that we will never really know the fullness of our agency and the love we seed. Strangely enough, when we step away, this very mystery and uncertainty is our greatest gift. We are divine midwife of a future not born to us but well within us. Still, what I can say now, looking back, is that in just two months, you have created a ripple, now manifest in so many others who carry the torch that will ABSOLUTELY result in justice for Raverro, but is also now the catalyst to bring down a multinational Goliath responsible for immeasurable suffering. You my sister are my giant slayer and a reflection of all that is good in the world. Though we have not met in person, I consider you a life-long sojourner and model for who, we as humankind can be.

I have only one wish for you now – please revel in your brilliance and peace of mind that your life not only matters but you are one of the visionaries of the just world we are fighting for. If I can throw in my two cents, I would encourage you now to simply witness the love you have leveled upon this campaign and witness for yourself, how love manifests what is otherwise not possible – that you are the very angel of hope the world is yearning for. Please, if only for a few moments, step away from the front-line and celebrate your unbridled compassion, if only , to set an example to me on how to be an exemplary human in the face of adversity. If we do not have elders who can reflect to us, love embodied then we too remain at risk of being swallowed up by the tidal wave of hate and fear. Just being still in this moment of history is the most radical act we can be for each other.

In struggle and abiding faith in the journey to radical love and freedom.

PJ
